The Museum is housed in an early 16th century Olivetan monastery and is named after Leonardo da Vinci, the extraordinary Renaissance intellect who mastered art, science and technology. Through the years collected and exhibited objects, machinery and evidence that retrace the key phases of country’s scientific and technological evolution. The educational activities developed in collections and interactive labs (i.labs) engage visitors in exciting experiences that lead to the discovery and exploration of science. Aim is to help people develop an interest in technology, share a passion for science and discover the fascinating nature of the past. A centre for debate and research, a lively meeting place and an active laboratory where innovative cultural projects and management methodologies are constantly investigated. In the Museum you can discover one of the most important collections of machine models based on Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings and touch some of his most curious inventions, explore collections on transport, materials, energy, communication, on the contamination between art and science and on the new frontiers of science and technology. Only amateur photography without flash or tripod is allowed inside the Museum. For professional photography and videos, please request written authorisation from the Public Relations and Communication Office. Opening hours:Tuesday - Friday 9.30 - 17.00,Weekends and holidays 9.30 - 18.30,Closed on working Monday, 25th December, 1st January. Prices: Full price: 8,00 €, Concessions: 6,00 € - young people under 18, students with valid student card,conventions.Groups (min. 10 persons:6,00 € per person.Schools:student - 3,00 € per person,free accompanying teacher(max. 2 teachers per group). Family: parent 6,00 € per person,child (<18) 3,00 € per person.N&N:grandparent (<65) 6,00 € per person,grandchild (<18) 3,00 € per person. Free entry: Children under 3,Adults over 65,disabled visitors and carer,members of press corpse,members of the army,ICOM members,teachers and administrative staff (Wednesday and Saturday).Visit to the Enrico Toti submarine: The ticket is only sold together with the admission ticket price: 8 €. |
